From the desk of Patrick O'Neill, President
Recipient of the 2007 Community Builders Association Community of the Year Award for Attached Homes! Sold Out!" Chestnut Hill, Morristown – 75% sold out in a soft market!! Why? This boutique townhome and condominium project offers great design and quality craftsmanship at a Morristown location which provides great small city living. Our last two homes are available for summer delivery.
The only home still available is a C model home. It offers 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, a wonderful gourmet kitchen and all of the finishing appointments that has earned Fenix its reputation – extensive trimwork, designer tile, hardwood flooring, Kohler fixtures and faucets…just to name a few.
This C model home comes with its own private outdoor living space – suitable for entertaining, gardening or just hanging out. It also comes with a covered patio – about 10’ x 18’ – big enough to entertain – rain or shine!!
Most condominiums do not have their own private outdoor space. Based upon past experience, we know that having some outdoor space to call their own is important to many condo owners. The space we have planned is right sized – not so big that it’s a hassle to maintain, just big enough to afford a variety of outdoor activities – entertaining, gardening, reading, BBQ or just hanging out.
Growing up in northern Morris County during the 1960’s and 1970’s – Morristown was the “big city” to me. With the advent of shopping malls, Morristown was one of many small cities to experience the loss of a vibrant downtown - which precipitated a general decline that lasted over 2 decades. As a bachelor, I moved to Morristown in the early 1990’s, just when the seeds of its recovery were starting to be sown. I moved from Morristown when I became married but moved Fenix’ offices to Morristown a few years later. And so I have been able to observe, mostly firsthand, the great strides Morristown has made over the last 10 years. And while many, many positive things have happened during this past decade, when I look ahead to the next 10 years – I see even better things to come.
Chestnut Hill represents another opportunity for Fenix to contribute to the exciting future of Morristown. Through our experience with our award winning Georgetowne Townhome Community, located on Maple Avenue, we realized that there continues to be strong demand for a lifestyle combining a luxurious home with a downtown living experience. Chestnut Hill hits the mark on both counts. Like Georgetowne, it is a small community of homes, built with the same amenities and attention to detail.
Chestnut Hill is nestled into a hillside that backs up to the Fort Nonsense National Park. It is located along a quiet street, yet it’s only about a 5 minute walk to the center of town. The property is fully landscaped and offers an attractive common courtyard area. Notably, each home has its own private outdoor living space.
Chestnut Hill consists of two identical buildings, built side by side. Four homes are located in each building – two single story homes (flats) and two double story homes (traditional townhouse style). The building features a traditional architectural façade with a mix of clapboard siding, stone and extensive exterior trim details. Each building has secured access to underground garage parking and offers elevator service from the garage to the living levels of the building.
The single story flats are located at the rear of each building. They each have 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a powder room, an ample kitchen and a spacious dining room and living room area. The townhome style homes are located at the front of each building. They each have 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a powder room, and spacious kitchens, dining rooms and living rooms, too. All of the homes have the numerous amenities and attention to detail that Fenix has built its reputation upon – custom designed gourmet kitchens, luxurious master bathrooms and rich, old world trim work. They also feature many amenities designed to make life simpler and safer – including an intercom system, a security system, a central vacuum system, hardwired smoke detectors and elevator service.
Our goal is to create a unique, small community, filled with people who are happy to be there and happy to be in Morristown – just like we did with Georgetowne. I hope you will take the time to explore the unique lifestyle that Chestnut Hill offers.
